Alloy 410 Stainless Steel
A martensitic stainless steel used where abrasion and wear resistance is needed.
Applications
Alloy 410 stainless steel fittings, flanges and pipe are used where abrasion and wear resistance is needed, combined with fair resistance to general corrosion and oxidation. You can also find 410 stainless steel in pipelines transporting fluids mixed with solids like coal, sand or gravel utilize the high mechanical properties.
Properties
Alloy 410 stainless steel is a martensitic stainless steel with high mechanical properties and is ferromagnetic in the annealed or hardened condition. 410 steel contains the minimum amount of chromium to impart stainless steel properties. 410 stainless steel resists oxidation and scaling up to 1200 °F. Hardness is one of 410 stainless steel’s best features; It resists abrasion and wear better than most 300 series stainless steels.
Great Plains Stainless stocks 410 steel with chemical and physical properties per ASTM A268. 410S stainless steel is available in A240 for plate, and A479 for bar.
